After years of research & development, DUX is preparing to launch the most substantial refresh to their bed collection we’ve seen in quite a while. Deemed ‘Sustainable Comfort’, the new collection emphasizes the use of ethically-sourced, long-lasting materials while also touting a design and construction meant to extend the lifespan of the bed well beyond the typical one to two decades. Here are some of the highlights:
A Focus on All-Natural Fibers
Stripping away all of the non-essential man-made materials, DUX bed construction will now utilize a range of all-natural fibers. Mattress paddings consist of a 90% natural latex foam wrapped in 100% European wool, all encased in 100% cotton fabric. The woven ticking of the mattress top and quilted border is also 100% cotton, while the quilted border itself is 100% European wool. Surrounding the responsibly-sourced steel springs, 100% flax felt adds spacing, padding, and shape to the beautiful new DUX build. Beyond improving each bed’s environmental footprint, these materials create a much softer, breathable, and more supportive system of comfort for the sleeper.
Component-Based Construction
Duxiana recognizes that not every sleeper is created equally. Every person requires a slightly different set of circumstances to achieve optimal rest from each night’s sleep. For this reason, DUX desires to be “the world’s most customizable bed’ by implementing a component-based build in which each of the three main components are independently manageable and replaceable.
The Comfort Top Pad remains unfastened to the bed and can be flipped or rotated to maintain freshness and extend use.
The Inner Comfort Layer is an additional layer of natural fibers that creates a seamless transition into the spring system, providing a new level of comfort and bringing an even deeper night of sleep.
The Pascal Support System is the deepest and most customizable part of the DUX bed. With three interchangeable cassettes of steel springs per side, each with a different level of support, each sleeper can modify their distribution of support to perfectly contour and comfort the body.
Not only do these components provide customizability, they can also be independently replaced as needed to provide a revitalization to the bed and extend its lifespan.
Continuous Coil Spring Design
By utilizing a unique, head-to-foot, continuous coil spring, the DUX bed distributes pressure evenly and provides proportional support to the entire body. Additionally, the added space around the coiling allows for body heat dispersal, odor reduction, and extra ventilation.
