Anne de Solène down is clean down:

  • Within 24 hours of receiving our down and feathers from our European suppliers, our down and feathers are de-dusted twice, washed, dried and sterilized at very high temperature in our atelier in France.
  • These multiple cleaning processes reduce Allergens and warrants the purity of our fillings.
  • Our in-house laboratory checks the quality of the down and feathers through various strict quality tests, including tests for content, turbidity, and microbes.
  • Our clean feathers and down clusters are then sorted by type and size.

Construction

  • Duvets/Comforters are offered in both Queen and King sizes. Baffle box construction.
  • A baffle is an internal fabric wall which separates the top and bottom layers in a down comforter creating a box. These boxes keep the filling evenly spread throughout the duvet, so no migrating of the filling, and it ensures that cold spots don't appear. Baffles allow for the down to expand and trap more air, so the insulation is better.

Additional details

  • Regarding Fill Power, we don't use Fill Power as a measurement unit. However, the weight per square meter and the percentage of down gives one an idea of the warmth. The more down that we put into a duvet/comforter, the warmer and lighter it is.
  • On the other hand, the more feathers which are put inside a duvet/comforter, the heavier it is.
  • We use three different warm levels according to the filling and weight: light, medium and warm.

Care of Pillows and Duvets / Comforters

  • In order to keep pillows and duvets /comforters longer, we recommend washing them at 40ºC / 104ºF or send it to a dry cleaner.
  • Our covers are made of cotton, which is breathable. One can spot-clean using a wet cloth and mild detergent, but it is very likely that the down will need to be cleaned as well to prevent premature wear.

Product Packaging

Our pillow and duvet /comforter packaging is made of non-woven white fabric on one side and PEVA on the other side, and with a rope handle. Product inserts, along with the law label on the products, give information about the filling, the fabric cover, the size and the care instructions.
