Bedding Inspired by Exploration
The sea routes discovered in the 15th century by the navigator Vasco da Gama influenced European culture with exotic textiles and ceramics. The inspiration from porcelain, with delicate floral details, became an unavoidable must-have. The Indian Ocean, the China Sea, the Strait of Malacca, the Bay of Bengal - all exotic names that inspire dreams.
Malacca duvet covers and shams have a blue-on-white design of Eglantine and Dahlia flowers, done in a painterly way, on one side and a stylized earthenware tile design on the other side. Flat sheets have the Eglantine and Dahlia flowers design. Pillowcases and fitted sheets are made with the earthenware tiles design. Malacca printed coverlets follow the layout of the duvet covers and shams, but the flowers print is framed with the earthenware tiles print and the coverlets have a spherical quilted stitch embellishment. Pillowcases, shams, and flat sheets are embellished with a hand-guided piping finishing detail. Pillowcases and shams have an envelope enclosure. Duvet covers have button closures. Percale construction. Made of 100% long-staple combed Organic Cotton. Made in France
