Easy Maintenance Extends Life

Your bath linens should be soft and absorbent, a cozy cocoon to wrap yourself in after a relaxing bath. Following these simple suggestions will prolong the life of your bath towels while preserving their look and feel. As always, we suggest you also consult the care label on each item for best results.

Machine Washing & Drying

Bath linens should be washed in cold or warm water separately from other home textiles and garments. Medium spin cycles or agitation settings may be used. Tumble dry at low temperatures until dry and avoid over-drying. Smooth bath linens by hand before folding or storing.

Cleaning Products

It is recommended that bath linens be washed using gentle liquid soaps instead of heavy detergents, as detergents may contain caustic chemicals that can harm the linens. Some examples of brands that make quality gentle liquid soaps include: LeBlanc, The Laundress, Seventh Generation, and Planet.

Never use bleach, as it can cause staining and discoloration. Never use fabric softeners, as they reduce the absorbency of cotton fibers and can damage the bath linens.

Other Tips

Do not iron nor dry clean bath linens. Towels and rugs should be washed separately. Do not vacuum bath mats or rugs.

Be aware that certain types of creams, lotions, and hygiene products contain ingredients that can cause bleaching and discoloration. Some examples are blemish creams, hair coloring products, and teeth whiteners. Use caution when selecting products that may come into contact with linens, as chemical discoloration is permanent once it has occurred.
